I'm proud of how the students are stepping up on their responsibility for learning!
Each class has an essay due before/after the break. 6th-8th grade are working on a 500-700 word narrative, while 5th grade is working on a 500-700 word research essay on an ocean animal.
As for literature, the students are learning how to annotate as they read. Annotations are a great way to show how each student is critically thinking through a novel. It allows them a way to explain and criticize the literary work through asking questions, quoting & explaining and how it applies to their life.
